"Get Lit" Holiday Card game

"Get Lit" Holiday Card game

Players: 3-8

Objective

Be the first player to complete a "strand of Christmas lights" by collecting a sequence of cards (Ace through 10 in any suit).

Setup

Use a standard 52-card deck.
Deal 7 cards to each player. Place the rest of the cards in a draw pile, and flip one card to start the discard pile.

    Gameplay

Drawing Cards: On your turn, you can either draw from the draw pile or take the top card from the discard pile.
Playing Cards: Players try to build a sequence of cards in any suit from Ace to 10 (like a strand of Christmas lights).
Discard: After drawing, you must discard one card to end your turn.

      Special Holiday Rules

Jack: "Tangled Lights" – Steal a card from another player’s sequence.
Queen: "Gift Exchange" – Swap hands with another player of your choice.
King: "Holiday Helper" – Play two cards from your hand on your strand in one turn.
Joker (optional): "Wild Bulb" – Acts as any number you’re missing in your sequence.

        Winning the Game:

The first player to complete a strand of Christmas lights (Ace through 10) yells "Lights On!" to win. For longer play, continue until second and third place finish.

        Why It’s Festive:

The theme ties perfectly into the holidays, and the "tangled lights" and "gift exchange" rules add some playful chaos. It's easy for all ages and levels of card-playing experience. Great for adding some laughter and holiday cheer to your gathering!
