Your Wine Country Style Guide

At Minthorn Mercantile, we curate high-quality apparel and lifestyle goods designed for the Wine Country experience. What started as men's essentials has evolved into a complete collection for anyone who appreciates quality, adventure, and the lifestyle that comes with living in the Northern Willamette Valley.

I believe in capsule closets - curated basics that work seamlessly together and last for decades. When a piece finally wears out after years of adventures, you can come back for the same quality replacement. This isn't fast fashion or seasonal trends. These are investment pieces for doers and makers, movers and shakers who need comfortable, well-made clothing that performs as beautifully as it looks.

Every brand I carry is selected based on three principles: quality, integrity, and sustainability. From vineyard walks to harvest dinners, bakery runs to riverside kayaking - every piece in our shop is tested against the adventures that define Wine Country living.

I grew up in the Northern Willamette Valley in the rodeo town of St. Paul, Oregon, and have been living and working in Wine Country for over 20 years. As a passionate foodie and local insider, I love nothing more than guiding visitors to their perfect Wine Country experience - whether that's finding the hidden gem winery, the best harvest dinner, or simply knowing how to dress for a day of vineyard adventures. After all, this isn't just my shop - it's my backyard and where I raise my family.

The Minthorn Legacy

The Hoover-Minthorn House Museum

Just blocks from our shop stands Oregon's presidential landmark

Built in 1881, the Hoover-Minthorn House is the oldest standing home in Newberg and the only presidential house museum in the Pacific Northwest. From 1885 to 1891, this house was home to young Herbert Hoover after he was orphaned, living with his uncle Dr. Henry John Minthorn and aunt Laura.

What makes this connection meaningful isn't just the history - it's how this 143-year-old house has been lovingly preserved and maintained. Like the clothing we curate, it stands as proof that with proper care, quality craftsmanship can outlast generations.

This landmark represents the understanding that some things are worth preserving - whether it's a young person's future, a community's educational foundation, or the craftsmanship that defines an era. That same philosophy guides everything we do at Minthorn Mercantile: we believe in investing in quality that endures, in pieces that tell stories, and in the kind of thoughtful curation that honors both heritage and the future.

Just as the Hoover-Minthorn House has been carefully maintained to serve future generations, we curate clothing designed to outlast trends and create lasting value in your life.
