TASTING NOTES
GREEN APPLE | KIWI | MACADAMIA NUT
These beans are farmed in the department of Quindío, Colombia, which experiences two rainy seasons each year - September to November, and April to June. Because of this, there are two flowering periods and two harvests. The second harvest is considered the mitaca (or mid-crop), but the coffee is still picked nearly all year long, as farmers split the production between the seasons evenly.
The third generation of his family to grow coffee in this region, producer Atilano Giraldo hosts approximately 350,000 coffee trees on this farm! Production is sustainable and eco-conscious, with coffee cherry pulp being reprocessed to use as organic fertilizer and water from processing being recycled in drainage tanks before returning it to natural waterways.
This versatile light roast is excellent on any brewing method, but we particularly love it as espresso or from an Aeropress to emphasize its bright and fruity aspects.
